Project STEP is dedicated to developing a small-scale humanoid bi-ped that can walk, climb obstacles, and navigate in an environment intelligently. Our goal is to push the boundaries of robotics and artificial intelligence to create innovative solutions for real-world challenges.

Who We Are

We are Project STEP (Stair Traversal and Exploration Platform), a Vertically Integrated Project at NYU Tandon School of Engineering. Founded in 2023 by a group of humanoid robot enthusiasts, we are the first bipedal robot VIP team at NYU.

Our mission is to make research on bipedal robots accessible to students. We focus on designing, fabricating, and controlling humanoid robots to automate daily tasks, applying advanced control theories in the process.

We encourage students to explore, design, and achieve meaningful accomplishments—all while enjoying the journey!
